If you follow my blog you will know that I bought this gilet when Attacus had there first Open Shop Day. Since then it has hardly been off my back as I have retired my very old Scott gilet off to my back of the wardrobe rail for a spare / just in case. I will be using this in the warmer months of our British summer when it is a cooler temperature or windy. It is too thin for our normal Spring / Autumn weather so I have my new GoreWear gilet for that which has a thicker, warmer and more waterproof material.
Getting back to the Attacus Foundation gilet I love the basic design / specification / features of the garment. The neck is high enough to keep a chill out when descending if you have the front zip pulled up. The front zip is full length and has a medium sized pull, not too big or too small. It has a double pull zipper so you can unzip from the bottom if required. This is the first top I have had with this feature so I am accustomed to using it. There are no pockets or reflective details on the gilet. The hem has a silicone gripper on the inside and works well. The material is all the same apart from a panel to middle / lower back which is a mesh type for better ventilation. The main materials stands up well to the cold, wind and rain showers. If it does get too hot the gilet is lightweight and folds / rolls up small enough to put into your rear pocket of your jersey The overall fit of the gilet is good and very comfortable in use. The logos are suttle with just one round logo on the left front chest area. There is another on the inside on the inside of the collar but no loop for hanging up on a coat hook. It also washes well on a 30 dgrees wash and dries very quickly. If you are into high tech / loads of features etc in your clothing then this will not be for you. The rrp is high compared to similar gilets but at the sale price you cannot go wrong and is very good value for money. If it lasts as long as my very old Scott gilet I will be absolutely over the moon.
They come in loads of different colours and sizes and there is also a range for ladies.
