Another local offroad ride down to Durham ./ Houghall / Maiden Castle n back

After two days of cold cloudy weather and rain last night we woke up to some sun this morning. I did a few jobs and the sun was getting brighter so decided to have a loop down to Durham / Maiden Castle / Houghall Woods then back through Durham / Frankland / Low Newton / Newton Hall then home, all in 16 miles in 1hour 20mins with just over 900ft of climbing. The trails were very quiet to start with and I only seen two people in the first 8 miles then for some reason there was loads of other cyclists, dog walkers, walkers and runners had come out on the second half of the ride.
Below are a few sunny snaps, enjoy and hopefully more soon -

A local cloudy, cold and windy loop down to Durham, Maiden Castle / Houghall Woods n back

Another cold and cloudy day here in Co Durham. The temperature never reached 8 degrees on the Garmin today and my feet and legs were freezing with the wind. It was still nice to get out on the bike and hit the local trails. They are still bone dry and dusty but rain is forecast later / overnight. It was very quiet in and around Durham but loads of people walking down towards Durham from Newton Hall when I was heading home via Frankland. The sun did try once to get through but failed. Below are a few snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon -
