Sunny, cloudy, windy and damp under tyre ride to Bishop n back

What a weekend we have had up here in Co Durham. It was forecasted to rain all day both days. We had two big storms on the Saturday and near continuous rain on the Sunday. I did not do a great lot on the Saturday which is most un like me. On the Sunday me, Jane & Arran hit the toon for some shopping and a cracking full English breakfast in the café on the top floor of Fenwicks.
No time to get out on the bike yesterday but I managed a steady spin out today along the old railway line to Bishop and back. I had to call in past Darlo Building Society for Angus. I took the Mason and no probs. I had to take it steady on the corners as they were slippery from the thunder storm last night. Bishop was all quiet and so were the lines apart from kids. Below are a few snaps from the ride.

Below, this bloke passed me on the way back and he was flying - full sus e bike and the bloke had calves like the hulk. He was mashing up the clicks in big ring on the front and 11t on the rear. He only changed out of that gear twice in 5 miles and that was on full pressure, how the chain did not snap I never know. He nearly went into the ditch twice going through the gate sections and was pulling front end skids! mental!!!

Fresh Goods Sunday - Finish Line Wet Lube 120ml bottle

I have been using Finish Line products for many years now, from memory probably around 25 years. I mainly use there chain lubes and Fenwick's products for degreasing. The wet lube (Green bottle) is my favourite by a long way and has never changed over the years. Saying that there is a new safety cap mechanism on the bottle which is rubbish, bring back the old screw top cap! as for the oil well it is easy to apply to the chain, I just squeeze a light drizzle along the top of the chain whilst turning the crank backwards then a light coat on the bottom of the chain. If the ground / weather conditions are not too wet / muddy you normally get a good few rides before having to re lube. After a couple of applications I degrease the chain and re lube. It works brilliant in normal UK weather conditions. The product is excellent value for money and a 120ml bottle lasts a long time. In really dry / dusty conditions I don't use the wet lube and apply the dry lube instead (red bottle). This is a lot thinner and does not last as long but better in dusty riding conditions.
RRP £8 and I paid £3.35 inc p&p from PBK

Manufacturers blurb -
WET Lube is typically recommended for extreme conditions. Formulated with high viscosity synthetic oils, water repelling polymers, and advanced anti-wear additives. WET Lube is Finish Line's strongest, longest lasting and most water resistant lubricant. WET Lube goes on wet, and stays wet, to provide maximum drivetrain smoothness, extremely quiet rides, and ultimate rust protection in the harshest of environments.
If you use WET Lube for riding off-road or in dry climates, be sure to wipe the excess from parts to minimize the attraction of dirt and grime. Since 1994, when WET Lube was first introduced, it has become the preferred lubricant for many professional on and off-road teams around the world.
Use WET Lube when you ride hard and long. Proven performance for 100-plus mile rides, muddy off-road conditions, long rainy commutes, and foggy salt-air coastal climates. A heavier, wet-style lubricant that requires a little more attention to drivetrain cleanliness, but delivers the ultimate in lubricity and protection.

Hot and sunny local road ride on the CAnnondale Nano Black Ltd Inc

Still no rain, it tried yesterday but did not land in Durham but some other places had some. I did not get out on Monday or yesterday but managed a steady spin today on the road bike for a change. I did a loop around West Rainton, Great Lumley, Fence Houses, Hetton, Morsley etc. The roads were pretty quiet, must be the school holidays! My average was 14.3mph and it certainly did not feel like it. I could have gone further but ran out of time.
Below are a few snaps from the ride and hopefully more son -

Bikewise 2018

What a day for Bikewise, forecast overcast, cloudy but hot, well it was boiling and blazing sunshine. Dave Coates did a fantastic show in the morning then we watched the Kangaroo kid, could not hear a word he was saying but was a canny show. Plenty stalls etc and we all had a good time. Below are a few snaps from the day and a video clip of the kid jumping.

ps I have fixed the couple of video clips on the NE Motorcross blog at the bottom.
