Early morning cool gravel loop around the old railway lines of Co Durham

Well its still red hot here in Co Durham and not cooling down much until the start of next week. At the least the overnight / early morning temperatures are low which means a more pleasant early doors ride. Today loop was taking in some of the old railway lines of Co Durham and couple of short inter linking road sections. The lines are bone dry, dusty and riding very fast as you can imagine. The temperature was lovely first thing going through the wooded / shaded sections of the lines around 11 degrees. The sun was out the whole time but was not over whelming but it did rise to 19 degrees by the time I got back. Not bad as this afternoon it topped out 28 degrees. It was also fine and quiet with just a few others out enjoying the shade and cool temperature. There has been quite a few small localised fires at the side of the old lines but nothing too major. The bike went well and so did I! All in 35 miles with 1800ft of climbing. Below are a few snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon-
