Fresh Goods Sunday - Satin ultra soft stretch indoor car cover (Car Cover Shop)

When I bought the new car I was after an indoor cover to try ad protect the car a little more. I have never had an indoor cover before and did not know what was out there and how much they were. I did a quick google and I found cracking review / test on indoor car covers by Autotrader from back in 2019. From there I did my research and in the end bought the Satin ultra soft stretch indoor car cover by the Car Cover Shop but through their sister site More Than Polish as it was cheaper p&p for some reason. You can check the size you require on the website by the make & model of your car but I also double checked the size by the actual measurement of the car and the cover sizes. In the end I opted for the large in black. After a week or so I had not heard anything from them so I chased them up and several emails later they had found my order but black was out of stock, even though it said in stock on the website at that time, not a good start I thought. Anyway I went for the navy blue as it was the next darkest colour and it arrived the following day. The cover comes in a storage bag with a zipped top and two handles. The cover is quite heavy in weight, which is a good thing? There is a small white label sewed on the inside seam saying front and the two ends are elasticated to tuck under your bumpers etc. To be honest I tried to put it on myself the first time is hard work as it is stretchy material and is like handling a wet slippery fish pulling it over the car. The second time two of us fitted it in quarter of the time and it lined up better. The fit is fantastic and stays in place once fitted. There are no hooks, velcro fasteners etc. At first I thought it was expensive for what you get but after using / removing and refitting it a few times the material / quality of the cover has grown on me and would say it is good value for money.

RRP £125 (Large) + p&p.

For that sleek, close fitting look, sometimes a normal standard fitting cover isn’t good enough.

If you have curves, show them off, and if you have a tricky angular classic or vintage motor, non-stretch covers will hang uncomfortably.

So our new soft, stretchy indoor car covers are ideal, and at a very keen price too. Their exterior satin sheen looks superb and they come in a choice of colours and sizes. The inside is very soft and wont scratch even Concours paintwork. The fabric is premium grade - 220gsm satin blended with Lycra. Beware other similar looking covers at only 180gsm or less, for similar prices.

Made from extremely soft 4-way stretch polyester with elasticated hems front and back, and supplied in their own zipped bag manufactured from the same colour fabric, they will flatter any car. They are the closest we can find to the original Factory-supplied Ferrari car covers.

They are dust proof due to a high density weave, are machine washable and lightweight. These covers are breathable, which is important to prevent moisture build up and paint problems. And they won't scratch your car. Supplied without any branding whatsoever.

Choose from these colours: : Red, Black, Grey and Navy Blue

There is quite a lot of stretch, as follows. If your car is within the tolerances below, there is no need to go up a size:

Couple of Walks this weekend

Well it has been a busy weekend. Yesterday was a trip to the supermarket at 7am for our big monthly food shop, then it was back home and unloaded. Then it was a trip through to Willington for Mark Sawkin's to check the tracking on the new car. Whilst he did that we went out a hike in the freezing cold, overcast and windy weather. We went up the new estate road which is like a drag strip then turned left onto the old railway down to Coop then left gain and followed the footpath all the way back to the old garage then turned left again and back to Marks. All in just over 2 miles in 36 minutes. The car was ready and off home went. Once back home we washed and dried the car, washed Angus's van then it was time to thaw out and have some tea!

This morning there was a beautiful morning sun rise with a good dusting of snow and ice. After Jane get a couple of things from Gilesgate we popped over to Shincliffe to park up and have a walk over to the crem. All the trails are still up the eyes in deep mud but most parts where the mud was not too deep was frozen. We did a different route on the way back to Shincliffe and we covered 5 miles in 1hr 49 mins. Once back at the van we called in past Coffee @ Chesneys for a well deserved takeaway hot drink & cake. Below are a few snaps from the hike, enjoy and hopefully more soon-

Coastal walk along Seaburn/Whitburn & local gravel loop on Creo SL

Our new car was booked in to the Merc dealership at Sunderland to have a few issues sorted so we decided to have a short drive over to the near by coast for a walk out. The weather was fantastic and did not really feel the cold wind. The beach was very busy with people out enjoying some winter sun. We also called in past Morrisons for our shopping on the walk back to the car. Below are a few snaps from the walk.

Yesterday I was over in Spenny and had my bike with me in the van so decided to ride the loop me and Jane was going to do on Saturday. The sun was in and out which made it much more pleasant and was 12 degrees warmer than Saturday mornings ride! In fact I had to up zip my outer top and my hands were sweating in my gloves. The overnight frost had come out of the old railway lines and it was like cold black soup in places. There was also loads of stretches of sheet polished ice which had me on my toes, luckily not my backside! 19 miles later I was back at Spenny covered in mud from head to toe but with a smile on my face. Below are a few snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon-
