I bought the bike last year and have been going out for a few rides on it, all local and not too hilly! If you have followed my Blog you will have noticed that I have altered and changed a few parts over the months.
The size Large stock bike weight was 23.05lbs or 10.58kg. Not too bad considering it was straight from the box.
I swapped / altered the following -
Saddle to a Selle Italia slr ti rails - free from my spare stock
Seatpsot to a Thompson Elite 400mm x 31.8mm - free from my spare stock.
Handlebars - cut down the width as they were like cow horns down to the minimum marks on the bars- free.
Grips - I torn the original grips removing them so fitted some old Bontrager XXX lite grips - free from my spare stock.
Disc brake rotors - downsized the front from 180mm and removed the adaptor and fitted Quaxar Iris Ultralight disc brake rotor 6 hole 160mm £34.10 for the pair.
Forks - to Travers Bikes EVO Prong Boost Rigid Carbon Fork & MT Zoom steerer bung £350.48
Cassette - to Garbaruk 12-speed cassette 10-52t (Shimano Micro Spline freehub) £164.59
TOTAL £518.17
Also swapped the front chainring - to a smaller tooth to get up the hills easier E Thirteen £50 but have not included this as it was not bought to save weight.
Chain - removed 1no link as it was too long after swapping the front chainring.
Disc Pads - swapped to Shimano Metal pad with Fin J04C - MF, they will have been heavier than the stock pads so not included them £37.50 for 2no pairs.
Now today I re weighed the bike with the same scales and in the same stand and it has lost exactly on the nose - 3lbs or 1360g in weight. It is nearly under the magical 20lbs mark.
Just another 5oz / 143g
