Sunny Bank Hol hike down to Durham / Low Shincliffe / Maiden Castle n back up.

Well its Easter / Bank Hol Friday, it certainly does not feel like a bank holiday weekend! and its not raining, well at the mo anyway. The day started out very cloudy and cool but the sun burnt through by dinnertime so after a lazy morning me, Jane and Angus had a walk down to Durham via the red brick bridge / over to Low Shincliffe, around Maiden Castle. We then come back through Durham before the climb homeward bound. It was mainly sunny for the hike and I was overdressed and no drink! It was very warm / humid as well. There was not many people out and about. There was a few walkers, runners, cyclists but no dog walkers! There are still quiet a few cars on the roads in and around Durham. Below are a few snaps from the hike, enjoy and hopefully more soon -

This new shop front is an optical illusion. The building is level but the new shop front is running parallel with the road which is on a hill! = columns and windows / door are not plumb, total cowboy job to say the least.
