Easter Sunday spin to Consett - Metro Centre - Gateshead n back home

I was up for another ride this morning so headed over to Birtley to pick up the C2C old railway line to Consett. It was nice and quiet at 7am. Once at Consett the sun came out for a short while and warmed me up a little. The Garmin was reading around 8 to 10 degrees for the whole ride. There was a breeze as well which made it feel even colder. Once at Consett I picked up Route 14 to take me all the way down to the Metro Centre. At this point I turned right and headed along to the low level swing bridge, along the quayside and over the new bridge to the Baltic / Sage. There was quite a few other cyclists / runners etc along that stretch. From Gateshead I picked up the A167 to Low Fell, Birtley then home. The road was very quiet, just like how it used to be when we used to ride through to the Baltic n back on News Years day many years ago. New Years day is just like any other day now with the roads chokka full of traffic and the vast majority of the shops open.
Below are some sunny & cloudy photos from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon -
