Replacing / testing the new Boch Active replacement chainring and chain

Todays spin with the Jane was a short one as I wanted to make sure the new replacement front chainring and chain was working ok. More on that in the second half of this blog. Also to check that my Garmin heart rate monitor strap was working again after yesterdays battery replacement. The sun came out mid / late afternoon and was warm in the shelter but there was still a stiff cooling breeze in places. We also incorporated some of our weekly shopping whilst out the ride, well as much as I could fit into my backpack!

The Bosch chainring locking tool landed today along with the second chainring that I ordered. The first chainring has not been posted yet so just as well that I ordered a second one from a different company. The job only took about 10 minutes and that included removing the old chain and refitting the new one. All in working order again, ready for more rides / miles. More detailed info will be in Fresh Goods Sunday's over the coming weeks but below are a few snaps for the time being. Enjoy and hopefully more soon -
Ps my Garmin heart rate monitor strap is working again, the forecast is looking good for the next few days and slightly warmer, just hope the easterly winds go away, so as is well.
Pss Merlin Cycles have been in touch re the faulty Conti race king 27.5”x2” tyre, they want it posting back so they can inspect it and probably send it back to Conti uk.
