If you have followed my blog over the years you will know that I have used Leynze Strip Drive rear led lights for many years. I have had loads of different models etc and they have never let me down once. On a side note I have tried several different Lezyne front lights and everyone has failed apart from one which has played up a couple of times.
So this is the newer Strip 400+ model which has 10 led lights now and pumps out a maximum 40 0lumens on Day Flash 2 setting which has the shortest run time of 18 hours. See the chart below for the different combinations of flashing modes and run times. Over the years the light has got brighter, longer run times, heavier but more all round visibility of 270 degrees. The rubber strap / band which attaches around the seat post has never changed. I always make sure that both sides and pulled in tight as on the older models sometimes the band did not pull in tight and I lost one this way over in the depths of Weardale crossing over into Teesdale many years ago. You charge it from the bottom and now has a hinged rubber bung instead of a lose one from previous models which can be easily lost. The charging port is now USB-C but all my other models are the older type. The power button is still on the top where you scroll through the different flashing modes and turn the light off completely.
I have this light fitted to my Creo 1 road bike and I run the light day, night, dark, light in Day Flash 2 mode ever time. As you would expect the rrp has increased significantly over the years and is now up to £55, as I always say shop around near the end of the season for a good bargain. The rrp is steep but is does perform very well for me but at £39 it was less eye watering!
