Due to the near 40mph gusts again I stopped local on the Trek Marlin+ e hardtail mtb. I did my regular Durham / Maiden Castle loop taking in Houghall Woods, Shincliffe woods as a little extra. I was up and out just after 7am and the sun was blazing away. It did not feel as cold as yesterday but the Garmin was still reading less than 4 degrees. Most of the tracks n trails were lovely and quiet with if being early Sunday morning. Houghall woods have has started drying out and I nearly cleared the central gully climb but a tree has fallen and took down the power line. What a difference it makes going out and not getting covered from head to toe in freezing cold mud. The bike has some splash on the underside of the down tube but the rest was clean so just needs a charge up. Below are a few more sunny snaps from the ride. All in 18.5miles in 1hr 33min with 1100ft of climbing. Enjoy and hopefully more soon -
