Fresh Goods Sunday - Alpkit Kepler Short Sleeve Merino Short Sleeved Baselayer (Mens)

This is my second Merino baselayer from Alpkit and my fourth Merino item of clothing from Alpkit. My first top was that full of holes and see through so I could not wear it any longer. The other two items of merino clothing did not last long at all and they literally feel apart. You would have thought I would have learnt my lesson but no I bought another SS top. Well guess what after a few weeks there are three holes in the top all in different places and one huge ladder right down the front. The sizing is all to pot as well, sometimes I cannot move my arms in some their XXL tops and this is a L and feels loose on me. To be honest they are a complete and utter waste of money and will not be buying another one. I will move onto a different manufacturer, probably Findra but will have to start saving now for one of them.
RRP was £39.99 and I paid £39.99 from Alpkit Gateshead, now the rrp is an eye watering £59.99!

Manufacturers blurb -
100% pure merino wool makes our Kepler short-sleeve top ideal for a smorgasboard of mountain activities.
Whether you’re hiking a GR route on the continent, biking through Scotland, running on cool mornings, or heading out for the Alpine summer, your base layer should keep you dry and comfortable.

The lightweight baselayer top is a staple piece of most peoples layering systems. Kepler fits right in there with its excellent performance over a vast range of conditions. Quite simply it is a garment that does many things really rather well.

Breathable, wicking, fast drying and famously odour resistant, merino can be worn in the hot, in the cold, in the wet and in the dry. For all round comfort over extended durations merino is our baselayer of choice.

The short sleeves leave your arms exposed, increasing breathability and articulation, but be sure to cover up in the sun! Kepler is designed to be worn snug, but doesn’t need to be so skin tight that you feel self conscious in the pub at the end of the day.

Flatlock seams and an anatomical cut enhance the natural next-to-skin comfort of merino.

MERINO -With thermoregulatory and anti-microbial properties, merino wool is more than a match for day-in, day-out use across the temperatures in changeable mountain conditions, help you to stay fresh, comfortable and protected.
