Up and out very early for a shorter ride this morning. The sunrise was very hazy but still very nice to see for a change. It was one of my regular routes down to Durham, over to Maiden Castle, around Houghall Woods, back around the riverside at Maiden Castle before heading for The Trod. Once down The Trod back around Durham then headed home via Frankland, The Sands then The Carrs. It was lovely and quiet in the early hours this morning with just a few runners out and a couple of dog walkers near the end. I would normally take my Trek e hardtail mtb but my Creo 1 gravel bike was handy from my last ride. It handled the singletrack and more technical sections well just had to go a little slower than normal. The weather was dry and no wind but a little nippy to start, less than 10 degrees but it started to warm up on the way back home and the sun even popped out for 5 mins or so. All in just under 17 miles with just over 800ft of climbing. Below are a few snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon -
