I have been using Garmin heart rate monitor straps for many years now. They have not changed much over the years, I think this is about the three version I have used. Sometimes they are hit in miss, one strap only lasted a few months then stopped working but the rest have lasted for many years. I am not sure why they stop working but the tell tale sign for me is the heart rate signal is hit n miss when out on a ride. Once this starts its on the way out and time to buy a new one. I have tried replacing the batteries, washing the strap and does not make any difference. The coin battery lasts a very long time. The screws on the back and very small to say the least and is very fiddly to unscrew them and screw them back up after replacing the battery. Once I have set the strap length it does not need adjusting again until the strap looses some of its stretch. I also use this strap with my Garmin forerunner watch and performs as as good as when I am on the bike. As ever the rrp has shot up over the years and there is very few discounts about but as ever shop around.
