I was hoping for a longer road or gravel ride today but I was up from 2am with a dicky belly so feeling rough and tired this morning. Woke up late after being up nearly half the night so missed sunrise but dragged myself out on the Cube e mtb. I did not want to venture too far so headed off down to Durham, around the river banks and over to Maiden Castle. The sun was still out but it was nippy. I decided to head over to Houghall woods as the overnight heavy rain had not made the trails too muddy. A loop around the woods then around Maiden Castle before heading for The Trod. The climbs are easy of this bike, thanks Bosch! Down the other side of Trod and back around Durham before heading back home via Frankland, The Sands & The Carrs. On the way out of the Durham the sun had gone making it feel even colder but it came back out again for the last dew miles. Loads of other people out n about around Durham, you can tell its Feb school hol week! Below are a few snaps from the 18 mile loop with 1000ft of climbing. Enjoy and hopefully more soon -
