Day out on the Coast - Whitley Bay, Tynemouth, North Shields

I had a very busy back end of week so no time for any cycling but yesterday me and Jane had a day out to get away from things for a few hours. We headed off over the Tyne bridge and swung right to the coast. We parked up at Spanish City at Whitley Bay. We had a walk around the shops and got some shopping in. We then dropped it back off at the car before walking up the coast towards St Marys lighthouse and back along the beach / to the car. It was a mix of mainly cloud but some sun later in the morning. We had a head wind all the way up the coast but a tailwind back. We also had breakfast at Cafe 19 which was ok but pricey. We then drove back via the coastal road calling in past Tynemouth and the Royal Quays. It has been many years since we last visited the Royal Quays and it has gone to the dogs, hardly nowt there. Then we come back via the tunnel and the Barbour Factory at Shields. I was shattered by the time we got back in as I have not slept well at all for the last two nights.
Today was a day of graft in the gardens and outside getting caught up with a load of jobs. We also washed a couple of cars then inside for some more jobs. No time for any cycling so will have to make up a few miles next week, hopefully.
Enjoy and hopefully more soon-

ps no Fresh Goods Sunday this - too bloody hot!
