After a couple of rides the wheels had not made one ping or bedding in noise which I always think that is a bloody good sign of a fantastic wheel build. I whipped out my calliper's and the front Specialized tyre is coming up at 53mm wide with a tube in and the rear Conti is coming in at 51mm wide on 22mm internal rim dim. I would not run any wider tyre on this internal rim dimension. They are pretty much at there maximum on this combination. DT Swiss recommend 23-28mm internal rim width for 50mm tyre. Max 64psi tubes and 48psi tubeless.
I also compared a wheel against the 700c wheel that I took off side by side and the 27.5" wheel is approx 15mm shorter.
I also checked the pads front & rear as the front one was making a couple of noises on the last ride, well it was time for a new set of pads! I had some older L02A pads and a pair of the newer L03A pads in my spare stock. I took only a few minutes to swap them over with the correct tools. The rears still have approx 50% wear left on them. The bike is all back up and running again ready for its next outing.
Ps - also did another 5k run yesterday morning before work, god my legs felt empty, it was hard going to say the least!
