Local 56 mile Gravel / tarmac loop on the Cannondale Synapse Neo E Bike

I was back out on the bike today after yesterdays 3 hour hike and jobs around the house. I was up and out after 6am and the van windscreen had ice on it! Todays loop was a mixture of old gravel railway lines and tarmac inter linking roads. I set off up the line from Broom Park to Stanley Crook to then pick up the road to Sunniside, Tow Law, Wolsingham, Frosterley and Stanhope. At Stanhope I turned right and straight up Crawleyside to pick up the C2C at Parkhead cafĂ©. The Garmin was reading minus -2.6 degrees going along the Deerness Valley and the grass was white with frost! The sun was blazing away and little wind at this point. Once I dropped down to Wolsingham I had a strong head wind all the way to Stanhope. The descent down the Wasklerley way was very fast with the strong tailwind. The lines are bone and dusty at the mo. Once at the Consett junction I turned right and headed down the old railway line back to Broom Park. The lines were very quiet apart from around Lanchester. Once I reached Broom Park I had covered just under 45 miles so turned left and picked up the old railway line to Willington. I had a headwind all the way. Once at Willington I turned left and picked up the road back with the tailwind! All in the Garmin stats - 55.93 miles, 3hrs 49 mins, ave 14.7mph & 3.200ft of climbing. The battery had 49% left.
Below are a few sunny snaps from a very enjoyable ride. I am decorating now for at least two days so probably no blogs for a while. Enjoy the sun and get out and turn the wheels.
