Short break away to the Lakes

With it being the school holiday week we are all off work / school. Me, Jane and Arran travelled over to the Lakes on the Sunday and rode around Whinlatter Red North & South loops. The weather was very mixed from dry, blowing a gale and lashing rain. We have not ridden Whinlatter for a few years and the North loop is much better now and the big puddles have drainage channels. The South loop is ok going up but we find it rough / hard coming back down from the top. The second half of the descent is much smoother / faster flowing. When we finished we did the north side of the blue and joined Whinlatter pass road and dropped down to Keswick to meet up with Jane. Angus followed through on the Monday as he was working on the Sunday. We had a days out around Penrith, Ambleside, Keswick, Ings, Staverley, Reghed and the Alpaca Centre. The lakes was not too busy and we met up with my Sister etc as she was stopping in Keswick for the week. On the way back we come home via Hartisde / Alston / Stanhope, great driving roads! It was blowing a gale and lashing rain at the top of  Hartside. Once back home the sun was out and it was red hot! Enjoy some snaps below and hopefully more soon -
