Another early morning ride around Durham - Lumiere starting to set up

I was hoping to get out on the bike yesterday but the wind was just too strong for me so last night I got the mtb ready for an early morning spin today. It was dark when I set off but daylight was coming through just after 7am. The tracks n trails were lovely and quiet apart from students on bikes along the riverside with no lights on shouting at the rowing boat people. The tracks n trails are also bone dry and no mud, well at least where I went. It was also a lot warmer with the Garmin reading between 7 to 8 degrees, much more pleasant.
I noticed Sidegate car park in Durham was closed a week or so ago and a massive brand spanking new huge site set up has been erected. Yes its money no object Lumiere time again. They are using a very busy large city centre public car park instead of the old DLI carpark. They have also took down all the corono tents on the palace green and erected the projector tower. There is also a projector tower down by the riverside / wear. I thought something was going to happen as the council have cut back the over growth / scrapped back the verges and trying to fix the drainage problem along the edge of the path. Strange how to takes an event like this to get these things sorted! It has been like this for years and has been getting worse but hey ho all the better for my rear end with less freezing cold water spray.
All in just over 15 miles in 1hr 12 mins with 700ft of climbing.

A massive tree truck has been placed across the Trod, dangerous coming down at speed in the dark!
