What a week it has been, we have had a trip out to Northallerton / Darlington for the day where Angus has ordered a new sofa / chair from Barkers Home. By god there is some expensive and over priced furniture / items in there huge showroom.
Then we had a day down to Harrogate for some more shopping / sight seeing. There are a lot of empty / closing down shops which is not nice to see but on he plus side it was lovely and quite apart from Spoons, it was heaving as ever. I bought some new bike bling, see photo below and Fresh Goods Sunday for more info.
Then we had a trip down to Whitby for the day. In fact it was the best day of the week weather wise. There is loads on new shops etc opened up with very few empty premises which is lovely to see. It was not too busy either. We had some lovely fish n chips from the Quayside and the sun was shinning so had them takeaway and sat at the bandstand to polish them off.
In between all that lot we have been pottering on around the house sorting out jobs / cleaning etc. We have also been on the hunt for a new mattress as the springs have come through ours on one side and Ed's Beds where we normally go / bought it from at Framwellgate Moor would not look at it / replace it. Its a shame as we paid good money as well. So we went over to Direct Beds at Shotton Colliery where Angus got his mattress for his house and ended up buying exactly the same one! He is a canny bloke who owns it and did a cracking deal inc free delivery etc.

And Arran had his 18th birthday a few weeks ago and part of birthday was a 3 hour 4x4 off road driving experience at the other side of Barney. We had booked it through DEEPDALE and they both had a fantastic time off roading and learning all some new skills in the mud, water, gradients etc. They both come home grinning from ear to ear.
No time for any cycling but hopefully that will change tomorrow (Sunday) and Bank Holiday Monday.
