We the restrictions starting to lift we decided to have a day out to Northumberland - Berwick Upon Tweed. It was cloudy when we left but by the time to passed Holly Island on the A1 the sun was out and it was a lovely day. The drive up the A1 was lovely and quiet and no traffic jams for a change. We had a cracking walk around Berwick then dropped around to Spittal before heading back home.
We also had a drive over to Penrith and took some snaps at Hartside in the mist before dropping down to Alston for a picnic lunch and a lovely sunny drive back through Weardale on the way back home.
