Sunday Morning local mainly offroad loop with Angus & Arran

This morning was a rare treat for me with both my boyo's wanting to go out on ride. We set off just before 8.30am but was still dark'ish. We headed off down to Chester Le Street on the cycle lane and then out of CLS towards Birtley to pick up the C2C towards Consett. It was overcast, cloudy and cool. We did see the sun for a split second but it soon disappeared again. There was very little wind but kept trying to rain. On the way up to Annfield Plain me and Arran swapped bikes so his legs could get a rest and I took the Super X for a while then Angus swapped onto it at Leadgate and rode it up to Hownsgill viaduct. We took a couple of snaps at the truck junction and the viaduct before heading to the café for a drink and a bite to eat. The sun came out and was a beautiful ride on the way back down towards Broom Park. The lines were busy with other cyclists, joggers, dog walkers and horse riders. Not sure what is going on with dog poo at the mo but it is everywhere. Not sure if owners are not picking it up as all the dog poo bins are over flowing as they have not been emptied for two weeks over the festive period. When we got back we washed the bikes, fixed the front flat tyre on the Super X and charged the E bikes ready for the next outing. Below are some snaps, enjoy and hopefully more soon -
