Saturday morning spin with Angus & Ian D upto Hownsgill Viaduct n back

Yesterday Ian D was dropping his car off at Pulmans so popped around ours on his Cannondale Mtb Single speed for a spin out. We took the back way over to Baxters farm to join on to the old railway line. At the junction we turned right and headed for Cosnett. It was a real cold morning and as soon as we passed through Bearpark we were heading in to the mist. After half an hour or so Ian had a flat on the front, no probs whipped the tube and he got his spare out 27.5", we stretched it to go into the 29" wheel, then we were on our way again. All the snow and ice had nearly cleared up, there was a few sections that never get any daylight which were still covered in an inch of the white stuff. The lines were quite busy for a cold Saturday morning. Once we reached the Consett junction we headed for the café for a cuppa and a bite to eat. Ian bought a 29" spare tube, just in case! On the way back down we discovered we had a tailwind on the way up. It was really cold on the way back with the head wind. I gave Ian a go of the E bike for the last stretch home and he was shocked with the power and the weight of the bike! Once back at ours Ian got changed and headed back over to Pulmans to collect the car. Below are a couple of snaps, enjoy and hopefully more soon -
