A sunny but generally cool local 40 mile gravel loop - Bishop Auckland, Spennymoor, Durham etc

Apologies for the lack of blogs over the last week but me & Jane have been away for a break in the Lakes and then to the Scottish Borders. I am back and the weather is still cracking so time for a bike ride. I did more or less the same route as I did on the 2nd July with just a couple of tweaks near the end. It was lovely and cool along the two railway lines in the shade. The lines were also still damp from yesterdays rain. The first couple of hours of riding was the best with the temperature around 13-15 degrees with a gentle breeze. The last hour or so was more in the sun and was a lot hotter, around 20 degrees. There was loads of dog walkers out n about but that was about it. Below are a few sunny snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon -
