Hiking about Stanhope in the sun / heat

No graft for me or Jane this morning so we decided to have a steady drive up to Stanhope and parked up at the Dales Centre. We donned our hiking boots and headed for the quarry then the moor. There was not a cloud in the sky and it was 22 degrees at 9am. There was  lovely strong cool breeze crossing the top of the moor before heading back down to Stanhope. It was lovely and quiet with not too many others out n about apart from hundreds of motor bikes heading to Hartside. We crossed the ford on the way back to the Dales Centre but not on the stepping stones but via the concrete ford as the water was that low. Both of our Alt Berg boots never let a drop of the freezing cold water in and it was over 2" in places. By the time we had a walk around the village and done some shopping it was 26 degrees heading back to Wolsigham for some Shell V Power at he new Spar station.
