Early morning minus -4 degrees ride around Durham on the Trek Marlin+

After a full day of manual graft yesterday on the tools in a confined space lets just put it this way, I am walking worse than John Wayne! I was up early and decided to get back out for another ride on my new Trek Marlin+ e mtb hardtail. It was washed, charged, tyres pumped up and ready to go. I went out just before sunrise with a good frost. I tried out my new Exposure Zenith 2 light on my helmet but it was not dark enough really. I see Exposure has took out a newer version this year Mk 3. The more I was descending the colder it was getting and very misty. The Lumiere set up crew have took over the car park next to the riverside for over three weeks and starting to set up the displays / park & rides etc. Another good waste of tax payers money and most people moan on every time it was worse than the last time with most stating the displays are poor etc.
Anyway back to the ride it had dropped to minus -4 degrees around the riverbanks and you could feel it. The tracks n trails have started to dry up again with just dry soft mud as I call it. There was not many others out n about early morning but a company was setting up a running event down by the bandstand area with loads of course arrows around maiden castle area. The bike was going well with no problems. I have bought a pair of carbon riser bars for it, more on these at 4pm today along with some other fresh goodies.
All in 17 miles in 1hr35 mins with 850ft of climbing. Enjoy and hopefully more soon-
