Is it ever going to stop raining? started early yesterday afternoon and has never stopped and its still raining now, anyway been oot n a boot today so bought some new parts for the Beast.
First up I removed the +20mm front disc brake rotor adaptor and 180mm rotor. I then fitted a 160mm Kcnc rotor from a spare wheel.
Second was to remove the Cannondale lock on grips and fit some new Bonty Race X Lite foam grips.
Third was to remove the Sram XG-1150 cassette and fit a Sram XO1 XG-1195 cassette from my spare 26+" fat wheelset.
Bike weight yesterday 26.14lbs
Grips 88g, new 28g inc plugs = 60g
Cassette 393g, new 267g = 126g
Rotor inc adaptor / bolts 191g, new 81g = 110g
Total 296g = 0.653lbs
New bike weight 25.49lbs
Reading up on the Panaracer 3.5" it is massively under sized and comes out narrower than the WTB Bridger and about the same as a 3" Rocket Ron.
So plan of action might be to put a Rocket Ron 3.00" LiteSkin Pacestar on the rear 720g - saving a further 420g dropping the bike down to about 24.5lbs - race weight !
So just checked the forecast and according to the BBC the rain is stopping after 8pm tonight and its looking dry for tomorrow morning, roll on the clarts!
Mudguards, seatpack, spare Co2, pedals, camera bag wall fitted and she is ready to rock n rumble
More on the new parts in future Fresh Goods Sundays after some testing
