It was Wednesday when we next got out on the bikes due to the constant heavy, and I mean heavy rain. We rode from Pebbles along the cycle track to all ride up to Buzzards Nest car park taking in some of rather wet & slippery skills sections on the way. From there me & Angus did the red and Angus / Jane did the top green and skills loops. It was cold to say the least and there was some huge puddles or should I say small lakes on the trails. The problem was you could not see some of them coming up and whether they were only a couple of inches deep or nearly a foot, which some nearly were.

at the bottom so onwards and upwards |

the second part of the log skinny is rotten on both sides and is only 2-3" wide now - Angus bottled it |
|
I cleared the corner and took too long looking at the narrow part and lost my balance |
|
Angus cleared it the second time |

Best view from Spooky woods for years, its either been fog or a blizzard |
Thursday was going to be the best forecast so me and Angus planned on doing the Glentress black. It started out dry and cloudy with temperatures dropping to 4 degrees on some sections of the trails, yes 4 degrees in the middle of summer. Well the puddles were not too bad to start with but after passing the mast they were back to lake size and plenty of mud. Just as we were coming near to the end the sun decided to come out! We met up with Jane & Arran in the café for a snack then I rode back, Angus got a life back - big softy!

just I got back to Peebles the back to the van the heavens opened once again! |
