Easter Hols Part 3 - Innerleithen and Glentress Mtb'ing
Thursday was the only dry day so made the most of it. To save some time we took the van/bikes down to Innerleithen instead of riding down the cycle track from Peebles. Once parked up at the end of the cycle track Jane and Arran rode up to Glentress Peel whilst me & Angus did the red route. We have done it loads of times before and nothing has changed apart from its getting rougher and the puddles are getting bigger. All the puddles were frozen solid so there was plenty of ice to tackle on the whole route. Its just one big up and down with a few little climbs / descents in between. The views were fantastic from the top but a very cold wind. Once back in Innerleithen we met up with Jane and Arran who had been along to the Whistle stop café for refreshments. We packed up the van and drove back towards Glentress. Once at Glentress we decided to drive up to Buzzards Nest car park to have some lunch. After lunch me, Arran & Angus did the blue route inc the diversion up a long climb of a fire road. Jane went off and did the top green and some skills. We met up again at the bottom of berm baby berm before Jane drove down to the Peel to meet up with us. The blue is still flowing well and is a great route. We had planned on riding back to base but Angus was tired and time was getting on so packed the bikes away in the van and called it a day.
