29"+ is dead - new trend 27.5"+

Well everywhere you look on the web its all about mtb 27.5" wheels/tyres and now its 27.5"+ bikes, rims & tyres that is the buzz.

Rims
So far here in the uk there are three options that I can find
Stans Hugo 720g rrp £110
WTB scraper 650g rrp £125
Velocity dually 640g rrp £104

as for tyres well same old here in the UK, not a lot of choice at the mo
Vee tyre Trax Fatty comes in three widths 2.8" , 3.0" & 3.25" rrp from £66 to £72 approx
UK website does not list any stock of any size but to contact them. Some shops have the 2.8" but nothing bigger.
WTB Trailblazer 2.8" rrp £46 (again I have not seen any stock in the uk)
WTB Bridger 3.0" not even listed on WTB website yet
Panaracer Nimble B 3.5" rrp £?? not listed on Zyro website

So there you go, there are a few riders out there now running the 2.8" Trax Fatty tyres on dually rims.
So what is all the big fuss about? I am not too sure to be honest but may get a pair built up if and when more stock/choices ever hit the uk shores.
As I have mentioned there is loads of talk on the net, here is one website, loads more on bikerumour, bikeradar etc
One thing about the Salsa Carbon Beargrease framesets they can run 26+" to 29+" so 27.5+" should be no probs for clearance.
