Local road ride for a change

Yesterday i was all packed and road bike ready for one last ride in the hot/sunny weather before it returns back to normal. Problem was i never got out, i ended up back at the dentist in pain, that put pay to any thoughts of enjoying the last of the sun on my bike. Today the weather was back to normal but i still had my road bike in the boot, so i swapped my shorts / short sleeved top to 3/4 bib shorts and a long sleeved top/gillet and off i went. Instead of the 22 degrees it was a mere 12 degrees by the time i neared Tow Law way with mist to the door. Its been a while since i have dragged out the skinny wheeled beast and it was flying on the outward leg. I worked out why it was taking little effort on the first half as when i turned at the furthest point to head back i had a good old headwing all the way. It was nice to get back out on the coutry lanes but i certainly have not missed the pot holes and bad drivers on the roads! Planning on building up my road mileage again to try and regain some level of fitness to make it easier when im offroad riding. Below are a few photos from the ride-
Warm the legs up on Wilks Hill

It was that misty you can just see the turbine in the background @ Tow Law

What you looking at you big hairy Higland Coo
