No riding at the weekend as we were busy hiking around Stanhope fells on Saturday in the heat for 6 miles then on Sunday we had a look down to the car show at Darlington again in the red hot sun. I am still going out on my Creo 1 gravel bike, I should have swapped the wheels over for this ride from the 650b to 700c wheels as I hopped onto the old railway line / C2C at the Lambton Worm at South Pelaw then headed down to Sunderland. This is mainly tarmac and easy going. Not sure who has been out of this long stretch of line but it has been cut back on both sides and weed killer down for around 90% of the 10 miles. There was very little glass and dog dodo until right at the end. The last section of track under the green bridge at Sunderland is still closed with a diversion in place. You cannot even get up the steep cobbled back lane at the end of closure as that has now been fenced off as well. Nothing else has changed out this leg of the old C2C. The sun was blazing away but there was a stiff cooling breeze which made it much more pleasant a ride. All in 22.50 miles in 1hr 47 mins with 900ft of climbing. Enjoy the sunny snaps below and hopefully more soon-
