I missed the first Insprial Cycles shop ride which was there anniversary birthday. I received their email newsletter last week and they had a second shop ride planned for today. So after a full day out at Alston yesterday on the train and hiking back the 4.5 miles then a walk up to the market / town centre n back I was not in a fit state for a longer ride on my own today. There was fourteen riders left the shop at 9.30am in the cold wind and overcast skies. We headed out of Bishop towards Witton Park then to the back of Crook where the ride split in to A - shorter ride back and B - a longer loop taking in Stanley Crook, Waterhouses, Broompark, Willington etc. I did the longer route along with others. The sun did try and get out a couple of times but failed! The lines are still all bone dry and rock hard, the dust is so dry it is turning to powder. 28 miles later we were back in Bishop and back to the shop, still cold and overcast but a good time was had by all.
On the way back from Harrogate last Thursday we called in past Specialized for a look at some bling then Chevin Cycles where I bought a second bottle of Gtechniq bike wash for a spare when my first bottle is used up.
Yes last Thursday we all had a drive down to Harrogate, we dropped Jane off at the shops then we drove over the showground for the Toolfair. It was a lot quieter this year with punters and some big brand names not travelling up is was a little disappointing. Never the less I still managed to buy a Blaklader T shirt, Knipex flush cut snips and a light and pocket level from Unilite.
