Yes the Sulry Knard, the most talked about 29"+ tyre on the market, we it has to be as that is the only one at the mo here in the UK. Fitted to the Krampgrease / rabbit hole wheel build a couple of months ago now so have had plenty of miles to bed in. Fitting was easy, no tight beads and not as sloppy as 26+ fat tyre / surly rim combos. Yes riders complain they are no good in mud, that is true but only in deepish sticky mud i have found. Most of my mileage on this bike is along coutry back lanes/ farm tracks / old railway lines which dont suffer from alot of deep mud. Its only when i ride the simgletrack sections in the woods where you have to take it steady. I will be leaving mine on throughout winter until Ison get stock of Surly Dirt Wizard 29+ tyre or any of the other manufacturers who are coming on board with different models.
Here is a link to the tyre info and hers the blurb - Yet another so-called 'platform'. But wait! There's a reason: 29+ equals fun. Surly's new Krampus frame is built specifically for 29 x 3" tyres on 50mm rims.
29+ offers fast rolling inertia with traction to spare, and even some float on loose terrain. 29+ isn't just a big wheeled version of a fat bike, it's the logical progression of 29".
Rip trails or rode where there are no trails.
29 x 3" Moto inspired tight tread pattern.
27tpi wire bead or 120tpi folding casing available at 820g NOT THE WEIGHT I GOT BELOW !
