MBE RD3 was a real tester of strength and bike skills for all ages & abilities for all the 70 riders on the evening. Yet again the weather was fantastic with near perfect ground conditions. As normal we started with the wee nippers race on the shorter but still challenging course. Joel H led from the start with Elizabeth M breathing down his neck he could not take the gas off and have a breather. Joel come across the line 1st in 9mins covering 4 laps and Elizabeth just 8 seconds behind in 2nd. 3rd place was Ameila C having a spirint with Isla H but she was a lap down. Onto the older nipper race on the full course Joseph A did not have any competion as Thoams M did not show. Joseph led from the start nad covered 3 lspa in 22.29mins. There was a close battle for 2nd and 3rd place with Joe W 25.24mins and Reece H 6 seconds behind coming in overall 3rd. The kids loved the course with comments coming back saying it was great fun! Last but not least was the main race setting off just after 7pm with a field of over 50 riders battling away to get into the first straight. After the first lap riders were still bunched together in packs and this continued throughout the race with the leding pack swapping places between Jon B, Darren G & Dean P (Series Leader). After lap 5 Dean P pulled through to the front and started pulling a very small gap on the chasing two. Further down the field was James A who seamed to be strugling but after a very stiff taking to by the Andersons who were spectating as be must have flown past the riders in front. Dean P finally got the chequered flag completeing 6 laps in 48.41 mins then to our surprise it was James A just 2 seconds behind in 2nd. Jon B was 3rd in the end and Darren G after leding for the first 5 laps came in 4th (1st V40). Cat winners - Andy N V50, Daniel H Jun, Lucy B Lady, & Colin M V60. The Series title has now been won b Daen P as he has the max 600 points, well done. 2nd and 3rd place are still up for grabs @ Rd4. A full set of results are uploaded in the results section and a gallery of nearly 400 photos have been uploaded into the gallery section as well. Remeber its your best 3 from 4 to qualify for your league position. Presentations will follow after each race next week. The Grand Final RD4 is Wed 3rd Sept - same place / same times. As always please allow enough time to get signed on and warmed up etc as the darkness is drawing in fast now. Next weeks course will be run anti clockwise on a similar course to Rd 3 minus the singletrack downhill sections. All the best MBE Crew
