Consett to Parkhead Cafe & back

Today there was no wind so decided to head upto Consett for a ride up the Waskerley to Parkhead Cafe and back. Ideal ride for Jane to try out her new mtb and Angus to bed in his new ride. It was a cool start but the sun was shinning so we soon warmed up on the gentle climbs up the Waskerley. The line was quiet early on but by the time we got to the top there was loads of C2C ers heading down and families heading up. We stopped for a refuel at the Cafe then turned and headed back down. It was alot cooler than going up until we got past the open moor sections and back down towards Consett way. Me & Angus had planned to ride home via Lanchester or down to Birltey but noticed there was a motorbike trials event on @ the old quarry at Parkhead so drove back up there to watch that for an hour. We then headed back home via Stanhope, Foresterley for the chippy then Wolsingham Park to wash it wall down with icecreams! Below are some photos from the ride and afterwards
Less than a mile into the ride and the first photos
