More bike shop closures looming - Biketreks in Keswick is closing beginning of next month -
Keswick Store closure
From the 3rd November 2024 our Keswick store will close. At the moment we have a huge closing down sale on in the store with clothing, bikes, frames and parts and accessories available at great prices. Everything is priced to go and is click and collect only, it cannot be shipped and cannot be used with cycle to work vouchers or 0% finance. We thank everyone that has supported the Keswick branch over the last couple of years and all stock will return to our Ings and Grizedale stores after this date.
Sorry to say it was never the same when they bought out Keswick Bikes and Specialized pumped money into the place.
Also Evans Cycles in closing down again in Durham. No date set but it will be in December. They have 20% off full marked prices in store. Now this comes as no surprise. Since Mike Ashley bought out Evans Cycles the stock in the shop has gone right down hill but always been a great bunch of lads who would always help you out in anyway possible.
Also Team Cycles has won the contract to run the bike shop in Kielder as Ian is retiring from The Bike Place. I will show my age here as I can remember when he had a unit at the Metro Centre then Swalwell, Bellingham, Petrol Station at Kielder, Lakeside Way Kielder. Good look to Team Cycles with the new tender. It is not easy running a business in such a remote area and many a business has failed before. The Bike Place are having a closing down sale ready for Team Cycles to take over.
