A damp and overcast spin over to Middleton in Teesdale n back to Barney

I was over in Bowes so thought why not park up at Barney on the way back and have a loop out over to Middleton in Teesdale. It was not that warm to start with and spitting drizzle. I set off on the straight road out of Barney climbing all the way to Egglestone. The visibility was very poor on the top so I had both my front and rear lights on. I don't like that 5 mile stretch as cars tend to fly along there. Once you do the couple of turns at the bottom of the hill passing the garage the next 4 miles into Middleton is quieter. No views over the valley today just cloud and rain. Middleton was all quiet, a few quick photos then turned left and took the road to Mickleton, Romaldkirk then Cotherstone, Larkington before reaching Barney. This 10 mile stretch was cold, wet and muddy roads. Once back in Barney the traffic was busy as it was Market day, back to van, changed and heater on all the way back home. Below are a few snaps from the 20.5 mile loop, ave 16.2mph and climbed 1500ft. Enjoy and hopefully more soon-
