Sunday morning local road ride on the Cannondale Super Six Hi Mod & Evo Nano

Well it was time for some miles and get some fresh air between Augus's lugs for a change. The roads were looking dry with no frost/ice so we decided to take out the good Cannondale's for some hilly miles. We were a little late in getting started but after a little fettling, deciding how many layers etc to wear we were off. It was similar route to what I did mid week but wanted to extend it to 40+ miles but had to be back at dinnertime. Its been a while since Angus has done any hilly road work so I took it steady but he was powering away, told him to pace himself as there was still plenty more to go at. We had a tail wind all the way out with overcast skies and it was cold. When we got to Tow Law we had a juice / bar break and it was just over 2 degrees on the Garmin. I had a funny feeling the homeward leg was going to be in a headwind and I was not wrong, just as well I choose a less hilly route as the big lad was blowing like the steam locomotive yesterday. By the time we had dropped down to Crook/Willington the sun came out the temperature went up to 7 degrees. All in we climbed 4058ft and did 41.5miles. Below are a few photos from the ride, enjoy and more soon -

still lumps of snow at the side of the road from Friday

watch out for the chickens

more livestock in the verges

no photos for the last 15+ miles, heads down / arse up into the head wind
At least it was sunny when we got back in, washed the bikes, dried them off and they are ready for more miles.
