Fresh Goods Sunday - Specialized S Works Renegade 2Bliss Ready T5/T7 29" x 2.2" Tyres

 

Following in the series of Fresh Goods Sunday's this week is the tyres. I don't normally use Specialized for mtb tyres and have had mixed success with some of there road tyres so was not expecting much from these very light weight S Works mtb tyres. When I bought the Creo 2 from memory I think they said you could fit 29 x 2.2" so I thought I would give it a go. There is not a massive selection of 29" tyres that are 2.2" wide but decided on these Specialized Renegade S Works version. In the past my experience of very lightweight / soft compound / grippy tyres is that they tend not to last long and puncture very easily. I fitted them onto my Hunt gravel wheels with no problems. I set them up tubeless and they aired up first time. After a few rides they don't lose much air now. I have topped up the Stan's once since the initial set up nearly a year ago. They have been fitted to my Creo 2 and not come off for a year. I have used them in all weathers and ground conditions and have performed fantastically. I have not had any problems with them. As you can see in the photos the central tread is starting to wear down on the back tyre which is normal and more so on e bikes I have found. I should really swap them front to back but I have another pair of  Spec 2.2" tyres in my spare stock as they were selling them of 2 for 1. I have had no problems with any big punctures and the Stans sealing the small thorn punctures. The sidewalls have no been a problem with no signs of wear or cuts. For the money they are a general all round great value tyre for the riding I do on my Creo 2.
