Day off today so I was up and out early doors - 6am for a local mainly gravel loop on the Creo 2. The ride started off with some hazy sunshine and around 12 degrees so it was lovely and cool. I headed off down to Chester Le Street then Birtley where I picked up the old railway line / C2C. I headed straight up the hill to Consett then kept on going over Hownsgill viaduct to Whitehall picnic area. I turned here and headed back to the crossroads at Consett. I turned right and then all the way back down the hill to Baxters Farm after Bearpark. Then it was back lanes and tracks home. By now the sun was blazing away and the temperature had gone up to 17 degrees. All the tracks and trails were mainly lovely and quiet apart from a few dog walkers around Lanchester etc on the way back. All in 40 miles in 2hrs 57mins with 1500ft of climbing. Below are a few snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon-
