Well what a week that has been. We have now had our summer in Co Durham over the last couple of weeks. I was busy at work last Monday & Tuesday so did not manage to get out. On Wednesday I fell ill at work and had to be taken to Dryburn hospital where I spent the day in A&E, not a pleasant experience and hopefully not one to be repeated for a very long time. Thursday and Friday I pottered on with some jobs at a very slow pace, felt well rough to be honest. Yesterday me and Jane had a look through to Bishop Auckland Food Festival and it was cracking weather for a change. I felt well rough again when I got back and did not feel any better until 9pm. This morning I decided to get back out on the bike for a very steady spin before next weeks wall to wall forecasted rain is due. I hoped on to the old railway line at Langley Park and had a spin around to Broompark Picnic area junction then straight on to East Hedleyhope / Ivesley Cottages instead of going up the hill to Stanley Crook. I turned at this point and headed back. The sun was in and out and there was a good old stiff fresh wind again. Below are a few snaps from the 21 mile ride in 1hr 29mins with 600ft of climbing. Enjoy the couple of snaps and hopefully more inc a Fresh Goods Sunday blog at 4pm.
