A cold Sunday morning local gravel ride on Co Durham's old railway lines

Yesterday me, Jane and Angus had a look through to Stanhope for a 5 mile hike across the moors etc and it was lovely and sunny with very little wind after the early morning heavy rain shower. The tracks were not too bad considering the amount of rain we have had recently.
Today the forecast was for sun from sunrise just after 7.30am to 11ish so why not get back out on the bike again. I have swapped over to full winter kit now but thought I would get away without using my winter boots but I was wrong. After one and half  hours my toes were freezing even with my winter socks on. The Garmin was reading 1.2 degrees along the line towards Hedleyhope. It was lovely and quiet early doors but very busy on the way back in via Brandon, Broompark, Langley Park. There was loads of runners out, never seen so many people out running. Saying that I managed to get a 5k in on Thursday myself. I am back on the running but need to loose some weight as its hard going to say the least.
Well the forecast was wrong the sun soon disappeared and a headwind coming back in it felt really cold enough though the Garmin had risen to around 4 degrees. I have look out the rear Ass Saver Wing win mudguard ready for the slop feast of a winter no doubt we will have.
All in 27 miles in 2hrs 4mins with 1300ft of climbing, below are a few snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon-
