Fresh Goods Sunday - 45nrth Toaster Fork (balaclava)

Well it has been a few years since I have had to dig out my balaclava for cycling duties. Yes we get some cold spells but they never last that long but a few weeks ago we finally got some snow and a longish spell of really cold temperatures. I always wear my 45nrth Greazy cap under my helmet late autumn, winter and early spring and keeps the cold off my head but some rides this year were down to minus -10 degrees. This balaclava is too thin to wear on its own when really cold so I wear my cap over the top and it is lovely and warm. The long neck tucks right down your front of your tops and prevents the chill going down your neck when you are in a headwind. The face opening comes down to your eye browse and under your bottom lip/chin area. On a couple of rides I could have done with a middle section covering my nose but that is a different model called the Baklava, rrp £60. The fit even for my head, which is fat is a little baggy and would be better if it was a little smaller making it a more snug fit. Bikemonger down in Ripon import 45nrth now and the rrp is on the steep side for what you get. It is great quality and will / has lasted for many years for the amount of times I need to wear one it would not justify paying £42.50 inc p&p.

RRP £36 and I paid £26 quite a few years ago from Westbrook Cycles.
