Well who would have believed it but the wife has turned 50. Half a century and still doing well for her old age lol. She started the celebrations last Wednesday even though her birthday is not until today and not going back to work until Thursday, lazy so and so. Saying I don't blame her as I have had a day and half off to go to Seaham Hall Hotel / Spa for a night away. How they let us in I don't know, far too posh for us but a great treat. The staff were all brilliant and could not do enough for us. We had a chippy tea from sea front and sat and eat it looking at our "Tommy". Breakfast was included and were told to order as much as possible! if we wanted more just shout out. The contents of the mini fridge was also a freebie. I took our own booze and used their fridge. The spa was also cracking as the infinity pool had just opened and was a change.
We also had a meal out at the Old Mill, Metal Bridge, what a cracking Sunday roast, again great service.
Jane also had afternoon tea at Raby Castle which did not start well as they did not have any booking but we had paid and had confirmation paperwork. It was sorted and a free glass of booze each went down well. Free raspberry picking also chucked in to say sorry. Many thanks for all the cards and pressies
