After a good mud bath ride on Tuesday it was time to drag out the old offroad winter beast. This thing is a ton in weight and takes some humping up the hills but its all exercise. First ride was in daylight, well i say daylight it was overcast, cold but no rain and little wind. Got a 17 mile local loop in before proper darkness set in. Home quick change, tea then back out again. Dropped Angus off at the CX training @ Meadowfield Sports Centre and i went straight onto the line to Bishop, turned then straight back again. Now the whole ride is in complete darkness so need my front light on full power from go. Set off in the rain and wind, nearly got to Bishop and it dried up. Quick drink on the viaduct and headed back to Meadowfield. Only seen one jogger, two rabbits and two cyclists this week. Half way back it started raining again but when i hit the fields at Meadowfield it dried up again. Good ride and a pile of dirty / wet clothes and shoes to sort out now, oh the joys of the sport.
