I bought a Gore N2S Soft shell jacket way back in Feb 2006 for £45 from Westbrook Cycles. I have worn it ever winter since and has never gone wrong / performed well in all weather conditions. Its starting to get tired now after 8 years of use. Time for a new one. Gore now have several models but ended up with their new 2014 Power 2.0 Windstopper model as it has three pockets on the back and a small zipped pocket. I dont need zip off arms etc so this model was perfect. I have used it approx 10 times now with short and log sleeved base layers and pertex over the top when it gets really cold / windy. Its worth every penny, lovely and warm on a chilly day. Just hope it lasts as long as my my old N2S one! Here is a link for the jacket.
