As I mentioned in my previous blog I am off work today so needed to get out for a longer ride. No overnight rain and brilliant sun from sunrise so I was up and before 7am. I hoped onto the old railway line at Langley Park and headed to Broompark picnic area before heading straight on and up the climb to Stanley Crook. I bumped into Trevor Sharp (NECCA days!) walking his dogs so had some crack then continued down to Crook. From Crook I hit the road and up another climb then a descent into Willington. At the Coop I turned right and picked up the old railway line to Bishop Auckland. Through Bishop and up the next climb to pick up the old railway line to Spennymoor. I stopped off and feed the three horses as I do. Through Spenny then the back way to Tudhoe, Croxdale, Sunderland Bridge then up the last big climb of the day to the Bransden, Brandon. I then turned right and it was back to Broompark then right again and back to Langley Park. Again there was a stiff breeze in places just taking the buzz from my legs. All in 40 miles on the nose with 1800ft of climbing in 2hrs 57mins. Below are a few sunny snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon-
