Today was another lovely day here in Co Durham. I have been on the roads all week so far with work and stopped for an hour today whilst I was in the Consett area for a out n back ride. I parked up at Delves Lane and headed towards the cross roads junction. I was planning on going straight on towards Parkhead but changed my mind and turned left down towards Broom Park instead. I had the wrong cycling kit in my bag, two different sets of full winter so managed to get sort an outfit from the spares in my van more suited to the sun and temperature around 9 degrees. The old railway lines are bone dry, rock hard and dusty. Even the wooded sections after Lanchester are nearly 100% dry and that takes some doing. Looking at the long term BBC forecast there is no rain for the next 10 days as well. It was quiet busy in places with others out and about enjoying the sun. I covered just over 20 miles, 10 miles each way and gave it some gas on the way back and was only 4 minutes slower on the return leg which is nearly all up hill. Below are a few snaps from the ride, enjoy and hopefully more soon-
